Located in the Japanese city of Narita in the Chiba Prefecture and the neighboring town of Shibayama, the Japanese International Airport is sometimes more commonly known as Narita International Airport or the Tokyo Narita Airport and is greater Tokyo’s major international Airport. Considered the main international gateway to Japan, Narita International Airport is situated 57.7km each of Tokyo Station and just 7km east-southeast of Narita Station.
The airport receives the majority of the country’s international passengers and is the second-busiest airport in Japan. The major connection for air traffic between the Americas and Asia, the Narita International Airport is also the main international hub of Japan Airlines, the country’s flag air carrier, as well as All Nippon Airways, low-cost carriers Vanilla Air and Jetstar Japan as well as United Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

Classified a first class airport, the Narita International Airport is home to two separate terminals complete with their own underground train stations. Connections are available between the two terminals via shuttle bus or train, however there are no pedestrian connections. Buses within the security area are only available to connecting passengers, with additional buses available outside the security area for all other passengers.
Terminal 1 features a North Wing, Central Building and South Building, with gates 11 to 18 and 21 to 24 connected to the North Wing while gates 26 to 38 are connected to the Central Building along a linear concourse. The South Building is home to Narita Nakamise, Japan’s largest duty-free airport brand boutique and mall. The Central Building also offers a number of shops and restaurants as well as check-in on the fourth floor, departure and immigration on the third floor, arrivals on the second floor and customs and baggage claim on the first floor.
Terminal 2 is divided into a Main Building and Satellite Building which are positioned around a linear concourse. A walkway connects the two buildings which features check-in, departure and immigration on the second floor and customs and baggage claim on the first floor.
